Overnight Tone

Equity futures carried a constructive overnight bid following Tuesday's Congressional Elections, with the VIX compressing from 20.83 to 18.2 — a 12.6% single-session decline that signals meaningful near-term fear reduction. European services PMI prints came in largely in line with forecasts, offering no fresh macro disruption. The setup into the open is one of reduced implied volatility against a modest positive price drift.

Pre-Market Levels

SPY is indicated at 754.35 against a prior close of 752.10, a gain of approximately 0.30%. The VIX at 18.2 sits well off its prior close of 20.83, suggesting the options market is pricing a calmer near-term environment. A sub-19 VIX typically compresses premium across short-dated contracts, which has direct implications for spread pricing and theta behavior today.

Calendar Watch

ADP Non-Farm Employment Change (8:15 AM ET, forecast 67K, prior 90K), ISM Services PMI (10:00 AM ET, forecast 54.8, prior 54.9), Final Services PMI (9:45 AM ET, forecast 57.9).

Read for the Open

The 8:15 ADP print arrives before the bell and carries added weight given Friday's Non-Farm Payrolls forecast of only 65K — any significant deviation from the 67K ADP consensus could reprice rate expectations quickly. ISM Services at 10:00 AM is the session's primary macro anchor; the prior read was 54.9 and consensus sits at 54.8, leaving little room for surprise in either direction.
